Profile Background

Attorney Robert DiTusa is an experienced trial attorney with over 25 years of courtroom success. He has been named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in the field of personal injury practice every year since 2016.

Rob’s diligent work ethic and creative approach to trial practice has resulted in an extensive history of victories against insurance companies and defendants. For the past 20 years, he has focused his practice on protecting the rights of the car, construction, and other injury accident, victims. Rob and his partner Ryan Alekman are known for having developed a tough, but balanced, approach to collecting PIP benefits for medical rehabilitation practices in Massachusetts, as well as for their tenacity in demanding full compensation for injury victims and their families.

Rob was born and raised in Buffalo, New York.  He received his law degree from the Toledo College of Law in 1994 and has licenses to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New York.

Formerly, Rob represented members of various trade unions in bodily injury claims, workers’ compensation claims and social security disability claims. Upon moving to Massachusetts in 2000, he shifted his practice to litigating construction site injuries on behalf of those injured. He has experience litigating catastrophic injury claims against the largest contractors in the world, some of which were involved in Boston’s multi-billion dollar highway project known as the Big Dig.

In 2010 Rob merged his practice with Attorney Ryan Alekman to form Alekman DiTusa, LLC.  Rob is a current member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (2005 President’s Award Winner) as well as the American Association for Justice (formerly American Trial Lawyers Association).  His cases have been featured numerous times in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, and he is frequently asked to speak on his litigation experience at legal education seminars across the State of Massachusetts.

How I Serve Clients

When people are injured due to the negligence of others, they must confront many issues simultaneously – how to get better, how they are going to pay their bills and support their family if they cannot work, and who can they trust to help get them the benefits and compensation they deserve.  We understand.

As Lawyers You Can Talk To, we take the time to learn about the full circumstances of our clients, and to make ourselves available to answer the questions that we know that you will have if you’ve been injured.  We know that when a family breadwinner is hurt, the injury will affect the whole family – financially, emotionally, and logistically – as an injury may prevent a parent from engaging in even simple household matters such as buying groceries or driving a child to school.

One critical aspect of our representation that clients should know is that we do not seek quick, low-ball settlements.  Insurance companies know that we are trial lawyers, and that we will not hesitate to take a case to court if they are not willing to pay the full compensation that is owed.  We believe that our trial experience and abilities serve as a motivating factor in obtaining full compensation through the settlement process in most cases.

We know that it’s important to have full trust and confidence in the attorneys whom you choose to represent you.  We would invite you to contact us for a free consultation about your case, so that you can meet with us, learn about your opportunities for compensation against those responsible for your injuries, and how we can help.  If we are retained for an injury or wrongful death matter, we will work for you on a contingent fee basis, meaning that we are only entitled to a fee if compensation is obtained.
