$900,000.00 Settlement

A 78-year-old woman fell into an unguarded “trap-door” floor opening which contained the basement stairs of a commercial warehouse. As a result, she sustained catastrophic injuries which required her to remain hospitalized for over a month. Our investigation revealed that the property owner knew the unguarded opening was dangerous and that it should not have been left uncovered. To make matters worse, there was inadequate lighting in are of the trap door which was located only a few feet from the front doorway.

The Parties were able to resolve this case shortly before trial, after extensive litigation into both liability and damages.
