$300,000.00 Dog Bite Settlement

A young girl was viciously attacked by her father’s dog while visiting her father, who was living at her grandmother’s house. Her grandmother, who kept the dog at her house, refused to call for medical treatment for over an hour and attempted to dismiss the serious injuries sustained. Our client was left with permanent scarring on her face, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder from the attack.

During litigation, the grandmother’s insurance company argued that it was not her dog, and that the girl had caused her own injuries by teasing the dog.  Our investigation revealed that the father and his dog resided with the grandmother (thereby triggering insurance coverage), and that the child was merely watching television when she was attacked.

The insurance company settled for the policy limits of $300,000.00.
