Profile Background

Attorney Joseph Ristau is a first-generation lawyer, born and raised in Albany, New York.  He learned the value of hard work from his father (a community college professor, electrician, and all-around handy-man) and his mother (a respiratory therapist).  Joe attended college and law school at Western New England University in Springfield, MA and currently lives with his wife and two boys in the area.  In between college and law school, Joe spent three years living and working in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Prior to joining Alekman DiTusa, Joe worked for another personal injury law firm in Springfield where he represented injured clients throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut.  Joe has also worked as a law clerk for the Massachusetts Juvenile Court, and as a Temporary Assistant Clerk with the Housing Court in Hartford, Connecticut, where he spent the majority of his work day inside the court room alongside the Judge as their court room clerk during trials and hearings.  This invaluable experience showed him the importance of having a competent lawyer in your corner.

In his free time, Joe enjoys playing with his kids, hanging out with his wife, or golfing with friends.  Every football season, Joe is disappointed by his favorite sports team, the New York Jets.
